Relay for Life Yard Sale
On Saturday, September 18 from 7:00 am to noon, come out and support the Gulf Breeze Relay for Life Event 2011. All Relay teams are invited to the Soundside Campus parking lot to sell your items with 100% of your sales going to your American Cancer Society Relay team. Come find some treasures, donate some items for our GBUMC team to sell and help support those in our community who are in need of hope.  Please email joy.schulz@mchsi.com to join the GBUMC Relay team or to donate items.

Art Classes with Fuller Brown
Classes begin on Wednesday, September 8 at the Soundside Campus. Fuller’s classes are every Wednesday with Oil painting at 9am and Water color painting at 1pm. Come and learn the secrets and fundamentals of painting. Classes are $15 each for all levels of skill. For more information call 916-1660.

Mary Miller Circle will meet September 13
Join this circle of ladies at the Fairpoint Campus in room 11 at 6:30 pm. This month they will feature a mosaic of BOOKS! Sandra Brubaker will focus on Africa: desperation in Dafur and in contrast , the resilience of the people thru their amazing Faith and Folklore. Judy Adams will discuss the plight of the Christian Palestinians behind the Wall around Bethlehem Besieged. Vikki Snider and Marsha Garza will hostess the evening.

Interfaith Ministries to Host Gala
“Celebrate the Stars,” a 10th anniversary celebration for Interfaith Ministries and the Good Samaritan Clinic will take place on Saturday, October 2 from 6:30-9:30 pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. With entertainment by Jerry Blacklaw, pastor of GB Presbyterian Church, there will be a wide variety of food and drink served by the Pensacola Teen Board. Both silent and live auction items as well as door prizes will benefit the missions. Cocktail attire is requested and tickets are $25 each. For more information call: 934-6844 or 934-3307.

Women’s conference October 15 & 16
The Hillcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola will host this Fresh Grounded Faith Conference for women on Friday 7:00-9:30 pm,  Saturday 9:00 am-12:30 pm featuring Jennifer Rothschild, speaker and best-selling author and Bible study teacher. She will be there LIVE with special guests to include Stormie Omartian, author of “The Power of a Praying Woman;” Abby Rike from NBC's “The Biggest Loser” and Michael O'Brien, former lead singer of “Newsong.” A LIMITED NUMBER OF TICKETS ARE AVAILABE FOR $29 FROM BARBARA. Habitat Landscaping Day
It’s time to landscape GBUMC’s 24th Habitat for Humanity home on Saturday, September 11 at 8:00 a.m. at 5342 Prairie Court in the Midway area of Gulf Breeze. We are ready for the final opportunity to come out and lend a hand up as we complete the latest home to be sponsored and built by GBUMC volunteers. You don’t need any experience and you don’t need to bring anything , everything is supplied, even plenty to drink and your LUNCH! Link to a map of the location.


Beth Moore Simulcast “Living Proof Live” will be held at First City Church in September. The fun, authentic ministry team of Beth Moore and worship leader, Travis Cottrell, prepares a unique message from God for each event. Call Joyce Knox today at 324-6343 to obtain your tickets. A Life Line Screening will be held at the Fairpoint Campus
Life Line, a prevention screening, will be available at the Sharing and Caring Luncheon on Monday, September 13. For $139 you will receive four separate screenings for stroke, atrial fibrillation, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease.

Travel to the Holy Land in February of next year. The cost of the 10-day trip is $2448 from Pensacola and includes round-trip airfare, first class hotels, and two meals per day. If you are a WWII veteran don’t miss the chance to be aboard this year’s Emerald Coast Honor Flight. This program enables WWII veterans to fly to DC to see their memorial at no cost to them; all meals, travel expenses, etc. are paid. Put into place by Congressman Jeff Miller all funds are raised here locally in Congressional District #1. The Emerald Coast Honor Flight is a day trip in October and you can get an application from the website at www.emeraldcoasthonorflight.com or call 850-939-4050 and an application will be mailed to you.
