There I said it! Actually Chick Fil A has a Christian Kids Camp called c3. This year from June 14-18 our community will be transformed by their arrival at our Fairpoint Campus AND the elementary school. Now if you are hungry like me now if you are 16+ we need you to volunteer and each day you will get to eat Chick Fil A, of course. Children who have graduated 1st-6th grade can participate in three of 18 tracks (classes). My kids couldn't wait to sign up for soccer, fast food, and...

I can smell the salty air. Really. What a joy it is to live in Gulf Breeze. This summer's VBS is perfect for us in a coastal community. My friend, Lyn, came up with the term Junkin for Jesus. Just yesterday a dear volunteer, Andy and his son Griffin, went Junkin for Jesus when we saw palm branches in someones yard trash. On Saturdays you may find either of us searching for garage sales with a mission. As we get closer to VBS we really have to step up our game. This year we are...

Hi Friends,
Thanks again for reading. Hope you are having a happy new year! Over the years some traditions have faded like collards and black eyed peas (we didn't like them that much) to now just hanging out as a family. Tonight I am making a baked chicken and pork loin and some stuff to go along with it. We are thankful to have dinner but usely I burn it or don't cook it enough and get side tracked playing games. I love to play games. I think my family loves it just not...

This week has been such a blessing in my life. Since June I was the Executive Director of Family Ministries for our church and trying to do it all. With 4,000 members all being a part of Family Ministry somehow my life never stopped. Calls, emails, and meeting consumed my life. I was feeling separated from God in the business side of the church. My heart actually hurt. This week Shane and I discussed me returning back to just children's ministry. I smiled and did a little dance...

A group of ladies and I get together around this time of year to start working on Breakfast with Santa. Over the years the ladies have come and gone. The stories stay the same. Some are funny, some are sad, and some are just plain glad. One lady, Donna, who lives in South Florida termed it Paintin' for Jesus. We would invite the neighborhood in and reached out into the community to those who haven't found a church home. This opportunity touched my heart with the little things like...

Welcome to my blog!
Jennifer
Biography
Jennifer Keenan joined our staff team in March of 2004 as our Nursery Coordinator at the Fairpoint Campus. In September 2004, under her direction 100 children were cared for free of charge after Hurricane Ivan for a month. She then took on finance and attendance for children's ministry as well as retained childcare. In April of 2005 she accepted the position of Children's Ministry Director with an amazing team of support from staff and volunteers. Children's Ministry grew on Sunday mornings surpassing 200 children filling all the classrooms the first week in the Benson building.
In 2009, Jennifer was asked to fulfill the role of Children's Director at both the Fairpoint and Soundside Campus. Over 1,000 children in our community come in contact with Jennifer. Jennifer's life long passion for children comes from local teaching of 1st and 3rd grade and from her desire to share her love of Christ not only with her own children but with our community.
Her children, Kate and Kyle, mean the world to her and inspire her towards excellence in all she does. Her husband Shawn is seen behind the scenes encouraging her and keeping her focused. On the fun side if you want to see Jennifer's eyes light up just talk about Disney World. She plans trips for friends and her children have lost count of how many times they have gone. Last summer she enjoyed a trip to a cabin in the Smokey Mountains for a change but word on the street is she is packing her bags for Disney again.
