ZOE Ministry

ZOE Ministry gives hope to orphans in Africa by providing food relief, education support, medical care and empowerment life-skills training. ZOE Ministry began in 2004 when Reverend Greg Jenks answered Christ’s call to reach out to the least of these through the witness of a 15 year old girl who had traveled to Africa to work with children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. In many African countries, orphaned children are raising their brothers and sisters due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Animals can be the first step toward transforming the lives of orphans. Animals provide manure for fields, nourishment and income as they reproduce. ZOE distributes animals in the most practical and efficient way possible so that animals will thrive in their environment. The Giving Hope Empowerment Project equips orphans and child-led families with essential life skills such as mentoring, vocational training, income generating activities, training in animal husbandry and farming, HIV/AIDS education, and shared love of Christ so they may live free from the cycle of poverty and dependency within two-three years in the program. Our goal over the next year is to build a partnership bridge between GBUMC’s heart for the hurting and under-resourced and ZOE Ministry.
